A storm system moving along the Appalachian Ridge today will bring widespread unpleasant weather to the eastern United States on Tuesday, including heavy rain, gusty winds, thunderstorms and even some hail. Much of New England will be affected and rain will hit coastal areas, but south of Pinellas County, strong winds are expected to lash the area when the storm arrives, with gusts of up to 60 mph in some areas. The best chance of wet precipitation is in the North I-4 corridor, although even in the northern counties only light precipitation falls.
The main effect of this system will be on marine and coastal areas, as the front will bring gusty northwest winds with gusts of up to 25 knots and increasing sea.
